Listening

Listening

Made an attempt to listen to self,
Kept away all prejudices, biases and judgments,
Entered the silence and stillness to see,
The reflection of Self.
Couldn't see clearly and listen,
As the clinging's persisted,
Biases, opinions, judgments existed.

Made an attempt again to listen to self,
This time started with listening to nature,
The gentle swish of leaves, soft squeaks of branches,
Coos of dove, chirps of birds, buzz of bees,
hum of the breeze, song of the tweets,
my inclinations, impulses, ideas,
opinions, prejudices, biases,
All taking a backstage,
Could listen to creation.

Made an attempt again to listen to self,
This time started with my own breath,
The gentle "hum-sa" sound of breath,
The gentle chirp of cricket, all within,
Entered into a realm of stillness and silence,
All clinging's being gone into oblivion,
Saw the True Self in the self,
Awed by the splendour and amazement,
Became speechless, wordless, emotionless,
And finally merged into Nothingness.
