In how many ways the mind wanders while we sit for practicing mindfulness or meditative practices is what intention of the below picture. This is the reason why scientific techniques of meditation are prescribed and are of great aid in supporting our mindfulness/meditative practices.

The foundational practices are always in two ways:
  1. Breathing practices
  2. Questioning (wisdom) approach.
Both of the above help in approaching stillness quite faster.

You as a practitioner can choose what ever you want and whenever you want.

Letting go - the most misunderstood concept

Letting go - the most misunderstood concept

Letting go! What is that I need to let go? This is the first question that we get when the thought or advice of letting go comes in.

Whenever someone goes for an advice in circumstances of deep trouble, they generally get an advice of "letting go." And, it is very confusing for any individual especially the one who is into such a mind ruffle, letting go is impossible as difficult as understanding why the ruffle has come and what is the root cause of the disturbance?

Most people think "letting go" means, letting go every control and do nothing. The things will be taken care of all by themselves. In reality this is not true. Because every situation that has occurred has myriad causes for it to turn into an effect. And, all these causes are created by us in the past consciously or unconsciously by our own thought processes (either influenced by external sources or not) and our own actions.

Hence, "letting go" means - we let go our corrupted thought processes. Our thoughts are generally influenced by various external sources, biases, and prejudices that we have developed over a period of time. Once we let go all these and try to let our real Truth to step in then we would be able to understand the fact as a fact without any shades of ours or others. This is what letting go means. It is not letting go all the control. It is just letting go the egoistic thought processes and letting in the Spirit's thought process so that we perform the right activities and take appropriate decisions that are harmonious to both internal and external worlds.

Slowing or stopping the regular activities and entering into mindfulness/meditative practices will neutralize our egoistic thought processes and then after letting go our egoistic control, we come to understand the Real work that needs to be carried out. This requires a rigorous and long term practice. Then, performing the activities from that realm of divine understanding results in harmony and well being of everyone and everything in and around.

Accepting the transience of Life

Life is transient. Everything in nature is transient. It undergoes change. That is the way of life and nature around us in this Cosmos/Universe. Everything and every particle has to undergo change and will undergo change. Nothing can stop anything from its change. Everything changes its form. That is the drama of life. An acceptance of the transient nature of life will give us peace.
Denial of Life's drama leads to trauma.
We need to accept it first. Then, if it requires a change - change it without any attachment. Be completely detached during changing or else there is an every chance of getting entangled to the drama which results in further suffering.
